Such a class of dangerous goods includes products such as airbag inflators, fireworks, and ammunition. Such items are restricted due to their dangerous nature.

They not only just need proper care and attention but also need a certain temperature to avoid the risk of accident, etc. This is one of the major reasons that air freight never allows explosive items in their transportation process. These items are counted under class 1 of dangerous goods.

Flammable liquids and solids:-

Another thing that is categorized by the shipping industry as dangerous goods and restricted by air freight is flammable liquids and solids. Flammable solids and liquids are a class of dangerous goods that includes items such as lacquers, matches, sodium batteries, alcohols, carbon, and paints.

All these dangerous products are restricted by air freight services due to their flammable nature. They easily catch the fire and thus can cause major accidents that can result in loss of goods, life, and other things involved. These items are categorized under class 3 and class 4 of dangerous goods.

Gases and oxidizers:-

Gases and oxidizers are also dangerous items that are restricted for air transport. Such a class of dangerous items includes pool chlorine, aerosols, ammonium nitrate fertilizers, fire extinguishers, hydrogen peroxide, and propane cylinders. These items are categorized under class 2 and class 5 of dangerous goods.

Toxic or infectious substances:-

Toxic or infectious substances are the items that are counted under class 6 of dangerous goods. Air transport of such goods is not just restricted but is also highly dangerous. Toxic or infectious substances include items such as dyes, medical waste, and pesticides. Usually, such items are prohibited by the service providers, but in case of any medical emergency or something, the sender has to take permission from the authority and mention the reason behind it.

Radioactive materials and corrosives:-

Radioactive materials and corrosives are the items that are categorized under class 7 and class 8 of dangerous goods. The list of these types of dangerous goods includes items like acid/acid solutions, medical treatment products, density gauges, iodine, batteries, and uranium.

Miscellaneous:-

Miscellaneous dangerous goods are categorized under the last class, i.e. Class 9. Air cargo services restrict the transportation of such goods for a variety of reasons. Miscellaneous dangerous goods cover items such as internal combustion engines, dry ice, and first aid kits.
